Major General Edward Mechenbier
(USAF, Retired)

Education: BS, United States Air Force Academy, 1964 Qualifications: General Mechenbier has an immense amount of experience in the operational Air Force as well as the aerospace industry. His operational flying experience spans over 100 combat missions in the Southeast Asia conflict, research test pilot, and squadron commander. He has flown over 24 different aircraft. His later Air Force assignments were with the Joint Logistics Center, Aeronautical Systems Center, and AFMC Headquarters. He also served as a member of the Reserve Forces Policy Board for the Secretary of Defense. General Mechenbier was recently awarded the distinction of being named only the 9th Distinguished Graduate of the AF Academy since it’s origination in 1960. In addition, he has had a very distinguished career in industry having had affiliation with a number of aerospace companies in significant roles of responsibility. He has an intense interest in the education of the next generation of scientists and engineers. He currently serves as Chairman, Greene County Labor-Education Task Force; plus other Community Boards.
